Hello Show Choir students and parents,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Mrs. Jorie McQuaid, and this is my 2nd year here at San Tan! I teach Show Choir, Drama and Dance at Power, and I just started teaching 3rd-6th General Music over at Recker. I also run the Theatre Arts program here, which puts on a fall play and a spring musical every year (psst- we’re holding auditions for Pride and Prejudice in a few weeks so let me know if you would like information!!)

For the first week of school, we did introductions, team building activities and games to get to know one another. This week, we’ll jump into vocal exploration, which includes finding out our voice type and learning how to expand our range.

Today in class, we discussed how to utilize our Google Classroom throughout the year. Anything we cover in class will be posted on the Google Classroom under “Classwork”, and any announcements including the weekly email will be shared on the stream (home page). The most important tool you have is our Vocabulary Google Doc which will be updated throughout each week. When we have quizzes, those are going to be important to know!
